Last Night's Pick-Me Ups.

After a strenuous day at the engineering office yesterday, I needed a few pick me ups. This came in the form of new nail polish, a new book, and a gallon of paint. Random, huh?
I originally went to purchase OPI’s “I Vant to be A-Lone Star” from the Texas line, because I have an outfit planned for a date this weekend that it would match perfectly. Of course, it’s impossible for me to buy just one color so I also picked up “I Mainely Eat Lobster” from the new OPI Touring America line. I am currently wearing this color now in order to brighten my boring workweek. I love it! I needed an orange/coral color in my collection so I couldn’t be happier.
Another purchase while shopping was Emily Griffin’s book, Something Blue. I have been on a roll lately with reading books this summer so after finishing Something Borrowed I knew this one was on my list. I have never had a summer when I read this much, but I found it’s the perfect way to unwind after a lonnnnng day at work.  So now I have pile of books to finish in the next few weeks and that will definitely keep me motivated.
As for the gallon of paint… I bought this storage bin at a thrift store for a dollar and I saw it’s potential right away. My mom just stared at me as I rattled off how all it needs is a fresh coat of paint, a DIY lid, and a bench cushion and BOOM you have a new bench that will be the perfect accessory to the back porch. She didn’t follow my logic.
But last night I bought the paint and picked up 2 different swatches of fabric. {Yeah, I am that indecisive}. So I got my hands dirty {pre-manicure} and painted the bin a crisp white. Ahh, I am in love. Cannot wait to make the bench seat for it... once I decide on which fabric to use for the cushion. So which one do you guys like more?

Sounds like I'm not the only one...but I love the green! It reminds me of the blue fabric I used to make my headboard :) Very chic.

Love the nail polish! I just got a very similar color through a giveaway on Facebook. Totally my new favorite color! And those BOOKS! Love them. I need to see the movie, though I can tell already it's not that close to the book. But yeah, I think I read those books in a day each, and cried. A lot.
