Working Girl Wearing Pink!

I am a working girl again!

Believe it or not, I am going to try the whole full-time student with a part-time job thing. The engineering firm I work for in the summer realized how much I was hurtin' for some extra cash and decided to let me do however few or many hours I want this winter. I am so blessed! The only downfall is I don't have any classes on Fridays and for some reason I told my boss, "Hey, I can come in at 6 am and do a full day every Friday." Yeah, I am regretting it this morning as I have already finished a Diet Coke and want to binge on more. {Not happening!}

The only thing getting me through today is knowing that at three o'clock I get to punch out and head to the football field. Tonight my Alma mater high school is hosting their "Pink Game" in honor of those who have been affected by cancer. Since I started working, I have been using my breaks and lunch honor to look up breast cancer awareness football gear. Now for those who don't frequent my blog enough, I am obsessed with my little brother. Its his senior year playing varsity football and I want to make sure its the best one yet. Soooo I ordered a "few" things. I might have gotten carried away...

My best guy friend ordered these for my brother:
I ordered all the accessories:

Pink Cutter's Receiving Gloves
Pink Mouth Guard

Pink Athletic Tape
Everything arrived on time and I can't wait to see him all dolled up in my favorite color. It's a very important night for our community and especially my family who has been affected by cancer. Can't wait to show you all pictures from the night.
Anyone else been to Breast Cancer or any other disease-related game? Anyone spending their night or weekend watching a football game?

Things I Love...

Lately, I have been so busy. College classes are going strong and kicking my butt, however, I am making sure to create time for letting off stream and celebrating all my hard work. Thank goodness, I have amazing friends who help me out.

1. Football
Every Friday is spent watching my little brother play his senior year of football. Luckily the girls came out to watch with me and cheer for Joe-Joe. It was a very close game and he played like a beast, so he was thrilled to say the least. {See last picture.}
2. Wine Nights with B.
I finally got my best guy friend back! His hand was seriously burned a few weeks ago and now that its back to normal again, we decided to celebrate with a bottle of Cakebread Cellars wine and a cozy fire. B and I sat for hours just discussing our lives and talking about the long 2 weeks we spent apart. Which felt like forever to us.
3. My Birchbox arrived... Loved this month's package of Minimalist Sunforgettable Mineral Powder, Adventurous nail polish strips, Practical Jouer Lip Enhancer, Crafty Truth Art Beauty Face Nourish, and a bracelet. Love, love, love.
4. I even spent the last few beautifully warm days at the beach followed by drinks with the girls. We tend to keep things classy... Prime example: Rebecca using a floatie as a lawn chair.
Overall, I am loving September. I cannot wait for all the fall festivities to kick in though. Anyone have fun plans for this weekend? I need ideas for more things to love. Gotta keep myself busy, so school doesn't consume me. Do you guys have tips to help me keep busy!?

A Little Inspiration.

When I first started blogging my original plan was to document all the do-it-yourself and home improvement projects I get myself into. One of my favorite things to do every morning for the past few years has been to pour a cup of coffee {or crack open a can of Diet Coke} and check blogs like Apartment Therapy and Design Sponge to get inspired and keep myself busy. Nothing is better than when I get to devour the monthly House Beautiful magazine. I have been so busy lately that I just got around to actually sitting down and flipping through this month's.
Loved every page but here are a few favorites:
So now I would like to become a blog that will be an inspiration for other people. Over time, I have started changing my blog into more of a personal diary, but honestly it is littered with all my little moments of getting my wheels rolling creatively and my hands dirty. I am always looking for and posting inspiration... I love the whole process of envisioning how a piece or room will turn out.

I also love that when you are a college student, you start investigating {aka Goggle-ing} how to make things cheaper rather than buying it. So a lot of my furniture are thrift store/yard sale goods that I revamped and revived. I am a sucker for a good before-after projects.

Anyone else crave a little inspiration/home decor with their morning? How about do you love when a certain magazine arrives in your mailbox? Also let me know your favorite home improvement/DIY blogs or websites!

No Longer MIA!

Well my lovely followers... I am back! Sorry for the lack of action lately but since its the last few days of summer, I had to fully submerge myself into the warmth and outdoors. Unfortunately blogging, tweeting, and Facebook had to take a backseat. Now I get to show you guys what I have been up to.

1. Trip to Northern Michigan University with my best friend to visit my sister and some friends. Since it is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I came prepared hike, swim, and experience what college life is like for them.
Me & my sister
Rebecca and me on top of Blackrocks in Marquette, MI
2. Cliff diving... enough said.
3. Making delicious Cookies 'n Creme cupcakes!
4. Watching my brother's senior year varsity football games. He has scored 5 touchdowns in each of his first two games, so I spend most of the game jumping up and down and acting like an idiot. Yeah, I am in his number one fan. Not to mention from attending every game, I am becoming a phenomenal action shot photographer.
5. Taking care of my burn victim of a best guy friend. We were lighting sparklers one night together and acting like kids by writing each other's names in the air. Well he was holding a group of them together and went to light them... all of a sudden they instantly exploded in his closed fist. I rushed him to the hospital immediately and now once a day, I get the pleasure of redressing his wounds and thanking God it wasn't me... Sorry B.
6. Making serious progress on our back porch bathroom... Goodbye lime green {yikes}, hello beautiful tan.
7. Finishing the Friday Night Lights seasons. I literally cried of happiness for 20 minutes straight during the season finale. I loved this series and can't help but hope that the talk of making a movie out of it comes true. Plus staring at Tim Riggins for five seasons makes anything enjoyable!
Who else is trying to get everything out of the rest of the summer? Have you guys tried anything new lately? New hobbies? New loves? I wanna know what's keeping you busy.

I'm Back...

I am now back from my little social media hiatus. Be ready for a "catching up" post that details all the trouble and greatness I have been up to lately. Sorry for the lack of action but I needed to soak up the end of my summer. Trust me when fall & winter hits, I tend to hibernate. Cannot wait to catch up on all your blogs, loves! But seriously who could pass up missing out these kinds of nights?
