Day-dreaming at Work.

Of course Kate Spade sends me an e-mail during my lunch break that now has me day-dreaming about her new Bixby clutch. I love the aqua one. Plus, the inside fabric totally seeled the deal to that I have to purchase one... soon before the summer is done!

The hockey season is officially a wrap as the Boston Bruins skate away with the win. They have been waiting 39 long years for another drink from the Stanley Cup. The Bruins emerged with the championship over the Vancouver Canucks after their goalie, Tim Thomas made 37 saves in the second shutout of finals performance. The final score was 4-0 and their celebrations were priceless.

''I went even further than I thought,'' Thomas said. ''I was scared, I won't lie. I had nerves yesterday and today, and I faked it as best as I could, and I faked it all the way to the Stanley Cup.''

I was pulling for the Canucks to obtain the victory instead, but they didn't put up much of a fight as the Bruins literally skating circles around them. Nonetheless, both teams gave a series that I will never forget. Now in my mind its time to leave the ice and hockey gear behind for a few months to enjoy summer, before starting all over again in October. I love this sport!

Biggest Game of the Year!

Forget the NBA finals or the baseball season right now... tonight is the biggest game in the year {well it is in my opinion.} Its the Stanley Cup finals... Game 7! I cannot wait to watch the Vancouver Canucks take on the Boston Bruins. At the beginning of the regular season, I stated that the Canucks would win the cup this year, so I am sticking with my original belief and pulling for them. But honestly, this series has been so intense that I wouldn't even be disappointed if the Bruins win. Both teams have been bringin' the hurt!

Now if only this work day would wrap itself up so I can go to my favorite bar with my boys. I am SOOO ready to kick back with a margarita {on ice! seemed appropriate} to watch the conclusion of the year's hockey season. Is it really that bad of a thought to hope October {beginning of the college hockey season} will arrive quickly?

So I finally got around to making to a Target run this past weekend. Honestly the first thing that caught my eye as soon as I walked through the door was this straw Fedora hat. Seriously, I didn’t think twice before my hair was pulled down from my high bun in order to try it on. I instantly fell in love. {I did the rest of my shopping throughout the store with it on.} So of course it was purchased… I have wanted a fedora for a few months and now that summer is in high gear I figured there’s no better time to purchase one.

My next step was investigating how celebrities are sporting this accessory nowadays. Every outfit I found, I loved a little bit more than the last. It’s great how something so comfortable can be stylish and pull an entire outfit together.

This week, Netflix delivered the movie, The Roommate, starring two of the most gorgeous girls ever: Minka Kelly & Leighton Meester. I was really excited to see this film because I am a “horror movie” junkie, but I found myself getting distracted by Minka’s outfits through the scenes. All of the clothes were flawless, especially since she wears a fedora throughout most of the movie. Of course, she can pull it off wayyy more than I will be able to, but hey, its still inspiration.

Reliving the Weekend.

Due to the fact that I seriously lacked at blogging this weekend, I thought I would update ya’ll on my life. Friday ended up being a paint night at Jordan’s after work. We still had to tackle the white trim on all the windows and doors. Once it got dark and we had to retire the paintbrushes, I left his house too worn out to go out or be social. But once home, I put in a movie and changed my nail polish color to OPI’s Suzi Loves Cowboys from the Texas line. It’s a deep brown, which is a color I normally wear during the winter months, so I figured I would lighten it up. Lately, I have been seeing a trend on celebrities' manicures of painting only your ring finger a different color. So I figured I would give it a go. So now one finger on each hand has been graced with the gorgeous Turquoise and Chinos color from Essie. It’s taken awhile to get used too it, but I have been receiving compliments. Yay!

Saturday night, I went on a dinner date with a pretty charming guy. He took me to Slopeside Lounge located inside the Boyne Highlands Ski Resort.  This restaurant had a cabin vibe throughout it with its dark lighting. It seemed totally appropiate since the dining room sits at the base of the ski hills and the views are excellent. Another detail that made me smile was we were seated in low tables and chairs. {Seen below} Well when it came to the eating dinner part of the date, I was pretty much eye level with the food on the table since I am so short. We quickly laughed about it and made light of what would have been a semi-awkward situation. But overall I loved the comfortable lodge-feeling which seemed to sooth the first date gitters.  

Sunday morning was rough. After a night spent out on the date which carried over in the morning hours at the casino and their nightclubs dancefloor, I had to wake up 4 hours later. Once up, I had to hit the road to travel down to Central Michigan University. {It’s about a 2 and a half hour drive.} My brother was enrolled into a football camp and since I am obsessed with him, I thought it was only appropriate to tag along. Thank goodness, I did because it was the most exciting part of my weekend. I got to sit on the sidelines taking pictures while he was timed and doing different drills. Plus after the 4 hours, he came walking off the college's football field smiling bigger than I have ever seen him. He loved every second of it. 

So I have been a very busy girl… Now I am at work doing a 10 hour day and I am exhausted. All I wanna do is sit on my front porch overlooking Lake Michigan and finish my Tim Tebow book. Is that so much to ask? Haha.

Summertime & the Livin's Easy.

I am a huge advocator of checklists and goal setting. For me, it’s the gratification of crossing an item out that makes it worth it. So this weekend, I decided to write down a few summer goals and share them with the blogging world. I think now that the list has gone public; I will be more motivated to complete them. Some are silly while others are going to be tough {especially the one involving Diet Coke.}

Through {His} Eyes.

So last night, I picked up my new summer read & I haven’t been able to put it down… I actually stayed up late last night and woke up early to read as much as I could. {If only I didn’t work 10 hours of the day.} The book is none other than Tim Tebow’s Through My Eyes. Not only is he good to look at but his writing is both brutally honest while being extremely religious. I have always been interested in his background, however, the social media is so biased in either loving him or hating him, so some stories were embellished or completely wrong… Now he is setting the record straight at the age of 23 to talk about his past. In between stories  of football games or award banquets he relates Bible verses to every experience. Lately, I have been disconnected from religion, however, through this book, Tim is reaffirming my faith. Who would have thought that it would take a football-throwing athlete to reboot my faith? {If anything I thought it would be a hockey player.} From this book and reading about his life, Tim has become a huge role model for me as well as one of my favorite athletes. I don’t think I will become a Heisman trophy winner or play in the NFL but I am now motivated and thinking more positively. If anyone wants a sport-themed book laced with religion, I highly recommend “Through my Eyes.” And for those who would rather look at him then read about him… The next images are for you!
